Paws off the Platter Navigating Holiday Food Safety For Pets

Paws off the Platter Navigating Holiday Food Safety For Pets

The holiday season brings festive meals and family gatherings, but many traditional holiday foods can pose serious health risks to pets. Led by Dr. Katie Miller, a veterinarian and board-certified companion animal nutritionist, this class guides pet owners on how to safely include dogs and cats in holiday celebrations while protecting them from dietary hazards. Participants will learn how to prepare pet-friendly holiday plates using plain, plain-cooked, boneless foods, distinguish safe treats from toxic holiday staples, and implement practical preventative strategies for holiday gatherings. The session also details high-risk ingredients (such as grapes, chocolate, xylitol, and raw yeast dough) and provides step-by-step guidance on what to do if accidental exposure occurs.
