In an inspiring show of animal rescue heroism and community collaboration, 14 of our Dallas Hollywood Feed stores have joined forces for a month-long dog food drive to support local animal fosters of Dallas Animal Services! Spearheaded by Hollywood Feed Park/Preston store manager Shea Thompson, the initiative aims to collect 300 bags of food throughout April to help sustain more than 600 foster dogs currently in care.
The idea took shape when a dedicated volunteer with Dallas Animal Services visited Thompson’s store and shared that the shelter was running critically low on dog food. The shelter plays a vital role in easing overcrowding and reducing euthanasia rates in Dallas by placing dogs with temporary foster families until they find forever homes.
With a Fromm Gold dog food promotion on the horizon and a passion for rescue in her heart, Thompson saw a golden opportunity to rally her own store and neighboring Hollywood Feed sister stores for a greater cause. She quickly reached out to fellow store managers and secured participation from 15 other Dallas Hollywood Feed locations:

Meanwhile, the Dallas Animal Services volunteer jumped into action by creating a Facebook post asking foster families to submit photos of their current foster dogs. The heartwarming images were turned into a collage, and the resulting poster boards now proudly hang in each participating Hollywood Feed, reminding customers of the furry faces they’re helping to feed.
The campaign has already begun to make an impact—both in donations and in raising awareness about the ongoing needs of local shelters and fosters. To spark some friendly competition, Thompson even pledged a $100 gift card to the store that collects the highest number of dog food bags. The results so far have been encouraging, with Hollywood Feed Park/Preston already at 70 bags donated!
