When Hurricane Helene devastated Asheville last year, our amazing Hollywood Feed community rose to the occasion, raising tens of thousands for local animal rescue partners. So when flash floods swept through Kerr County, causing widespread destruction, we weren’t surprised to see our Feed Team once again ready to take action.
Even with our nearest stores two hours away from the affected area, our team members immediately started asking how they could help. We also heard from customers who wanted to support the rescue efforts. Our Rescue Partnerships are carried out on the local store level, so we did not have any partners in Kerr County. We knew we needed a solution to help respond quickly, no matter where disaster strikes.
We responded by creating the Hollywood Feed Emergency Relief Fund.
Now, customers can easily support animal rescues in crisis by Rounding Up their purchase at the register. Every cent directly supports animal rescues where help is needed most. For the month of July, all funds raised through the Round Up program, along with all online rescue donations, will benefit Kerrville Pets Alive. This incredible organization is on the ground, actively rescuing and reuniting pets with their families after the devastating floods.
In just one week, our community has already raised over $7,500!
Additionally, our Memphis home office stepped in by donating three pallets of pet food to Austin Pets Alive, who are distributing supplies to Kerrville Pets Alive and other local rescues in need, thanks to our Austin stores.
