Meet the Expert

Jennie Lane | RVT, MA, ACAABJennie is an Associate Certified Applied Animal Behaviorist, Fear Free® Certified Professional, Family Paws® Parent Educator, and the owner of Synergy Animal Behavior LLC®, a Memphis-based consulting practice serving pet owners and animal professionals.

She received her RVT license in 1993 and went on to study animal behavior, biology, and psychology, obtaining a Bachelor of Science from UC Davis and a MA from CSU, Sacramento. While in graduate school, she became the first Behavior Technician for the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine and completed her master’s thesis on client compliance in the treatment of canine aggression.

Jennie is passionate about collaborating with pet owners and other professionals to help pets live happier lives. Locally and nationally, she works with many pet owners, veterinarians, trainers, and animal welfare organizations. In addition to providing behavior consultations, she manages the behavior helpline at Memphis Animal Services, volunteers for the Animal Response Foundation in Western Tennessee, and serves as a professional behavior responder for the ASPCA. She is a member of the Positive Dog Trainers of the MidSouth, Association of Professional Dog Trainers, Society of Veterinary Behavior Technicians, Animal Behavior Society, Association of Professional Dog Trainers, and American Psychological Association.
